Invoice template, Products & Services
The following information should be included in the basic products and services invoice template:
Company details: start with your name (or your company name), billing address, telephone number, fax number, and the email address at the top of the page. You can also insert your company logo if you have one, more of this information. Invoice number and date: Along with company details, you can choose to include a unique invoice number and a billing date. The numbering system you use for your invoices is up to you. It can start with 0001, or if you want to give the appearance of being in the business for a long time, you can start with a larger number, such as 36245.
Detailed Billing Chart – The most important part of your product and service billing template is the chart-like chart or table in the center. Within this table, you can detail your services so that it is easy for customers to understand what they are billed for. The table broken down on the invoice may include information such as:
- A description of the products and service (s) provided
- A breakdown of charges
- The service fee
These details are presented in row and column format. Towards the bottom of the table, the row-by-row charges are added together and appear as a subtotal. Applicable taxes are automatically calculated by multiplying the subtotal by the tax rate. The tax amount is entered and added to the subtotal to arrive at a total sum, which appears on the last line of the table.
Special Comments or Instructions – Use this section to include any important information that does not fit other areas of your specific bill. Possible examples might include the expiration date, explanation of additional charges, payment terms, available payment methods, a name of who should make the checks payable, etc. may include more details than the specified billing box has included, you can use this section to expand on what you have already indicated there.
If you send an email with your product and service invoice, the best way to do this is to convert the document to PDF format.
